The L&D team is a resource that fosters learning, encourages employee engagement, invests in talent management activities, and supports opportunities for employee development throughout one’s career. Collectively, all of these actions and efforts drive organizational performance, productivity, and results.
WHAT WE DO
Designing and Implementing Targeted Training Programs: Partnering with the Lab’s Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to design and develop trainings that informs, educates and teaches skills and behaviors that are needed to be successful in one’s job. L&D cultivates a culture of continuous learning and improvement that helps ensure employees remain adept in their roles and mindful of our "safety first" culture.
Professional Development Support and Resources: The L&D is a resource for employees as they navigate their professional development at the lab. We offer system support with the Learning Management System (LMS), Job Task Analysis (JTA)database, and the Appraisal database. We are also the HR-administrative support for programs such as Job-Related Training, Education Reimbursement Program, Percipio, Mango. Additionally, through personalized coaching, mentoring and access to resources, L&D empowers employees at the lab to reach their full potential, ultimately driving the achievement of our lab’s mission.
Training Delivery and Facilitation: The L& D team curate the in person learning experiences at the lab by seeking to understand the learning objectives and determining the right environment for learning and building rapport by using appropriate delivery options and media to make learning engaging, effective, relevant and applicable. Additionally, the team looks to define and measure the impact of training and the return of expectations (ROE) of resources that are used to help elevate the organizations greatest asset, employees.
Coaching: Coaching is a new offering by the L&D team for employees, supervisor and teams seeking some tailored support. This can look different depending on your goals You may be looking for individual coaching on your leadership style or simply seeking to refine or develop a particular skill. Consulting: Certified to lead organizational and development, change management, and facilitate large project planning. Providing, neutral facilitation of ideas and thoughts. Support Train-the-Trainer session for piloting learning content for a specific group or individuals and Team Building Secessions tailored to meet the needs of your team. The L&D team are certified in several programs such as MBTI, Instructional Design, Real Colors, Situational Leadership, 360 assessment and much more.
Performance Management: The L&D team supports the lab in the annual performance appraisal process. Offering session in the Performance Management cycle, Productive Performance Coaching and other timely topics help supervisors navigate the process, specifically when it comes to reviewing job performance and documenting trends to highlight successes and provide redirection to improve on goal set when an employee is not meeting expectations. Additionally, supervisors should be encouraging employees to complete and review their Individual Career Profiles (ICP). Ongoing, frequent check-ins and discussions should be done regularly throughout the year.
