The Communications Office Mission is to create compelling stories and memorable events that help to inform the public, the international scientific user community, internal audiences, and government officials about Jefferson Lab’s mission, activities and priorities, while enhancing the lab’s reputation and brand recognition locally, nationally and internationally.
The Communications Office is comprised of three Functional Teams:
Science Communication Services Role (Public Information):
Ensures that the public is informed of Jefferson Lab’s world-class, unique research capabilities, innovative technologies, STEM outreach efforts and scientific accomplishments, advising and executing all aspects of internal and external communications, government engagements and media relations.
Creative Services Role (Electronic Media):
Provides full-service design, photography, and videography services that meet the high standards of Jefferson Lab’s scientific, operations, and community efforts, while managing and stewarding Jefferson Lab’s brand identity across all communications channels.
Event Services Role:
Provides logistical support for meetings and conferences, as well as oversight for on-site food services, including the Quark Café, catering and vending, as seamlessly and invisibly as possible, so that the scientific community can focus on their research.
